Description
17 and 18 Rectory Street are two adjoining buildings dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. They are two stories high with a basement, constructed of red brick. Each storey features six pilasters with brick bases and caps, and there is a plinth at the base. The roof is covered with slates and has a brick ridge.
On the first floor, there are three sash windows with flat arches, alongside two blank panels. The ground floor has two six-panel doors with solid frames and brick reveals, each topped with arched fanlights that have radial bars and fluted brick keys. There is also an arched side entrance on the right.
Nos 15 to 18 form a group, contributing to the architectural character of the area.
