Description

The Old Rectory in Trimley St Mary is a mid-19th century villa, originally a rectory. It was designed by F. Barnes, influenced by the style of George Devey. The building is constructed of red brick with moulded brick detailing, and has a plain tile roof with parapeted and verged gables to the front. It is two storeys high with an attic. The front elevation features gabled bays with three-light sash windows with glazing bars to the left, and two-light sashes to the right. First-floor windows have label moulds, and attic windows have pointed label moulds. A central bay projects with a pointed label moulded window and a gabled dormer. A brick entrance porch has a moulded semi-circular arch and a recessed panelled door with narrow glazed lights. A three-sided bay extends from the north-east corner.
