Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was formerly a rectory, built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a 20th-century addition. It features a combination of white Flemish bond brick and red brick, topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and presents a symmetrical road front with three bays. The central bay includes a semi-circular bow window flanked by pilaster buttresses, with three ground floor sash windows, each consisting of 3x4 panes and featuring flat-arched heads. These are accessed by a flight of two ashlar steps. The first floor has similar windows, although they are shorter, with a hipped roof above the central bay.
On either side of the central bay are lateral bays with windows that match the form and height of those on the ground and first floors. The left side, which is the entrance front, has three bays, with the leftmost bay being a 20th-century addition. It features a central 20th-century doorway with a Tuscan porch that includes columns, demi-column responds, and a plain entablature. The door is panelled, with six panels, two of which are glazed. There are sash windows of 3x4 panes on either side of the door and three similar windows above on the first floor, which are shorter.
The right side has three bays, with the leftmost bay made of white brick, featuring central windows of 3x4 sash panes and blind panels on either side on both floors. To the right is a two-storey service wing made of red brick, which has randomly disposed windows. The interior has not been inspected.
