Description
The Horse and Groom Public House is a public house with an 18th century core and a 19th century facade. It features two wings that form an L shape, with one range facing Yarmouth Road. The building is timber framed, with a colourwashed brick exterior and a plain tiled roof, while the Yarmouth Road side has a slated roof. It is two storeys tall and has scattered windows, including casements and sashes in flush frames, all with glazing bars and segmental brick arches. There is a portico with an elliptical arch and a six-panelled door with linings. A dentil course is present on the Yarmouth Road range, and red brick stacks are located at the gable ends. The interior frame has undergone significant alterations, but some stop-chamfered beams remain.
