Description
This is a single-aisled barn located 30 meters northwest of Church Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century with later alterations. Originally timber framed, it has been largely rebuilt using yellow brick on the south side and one gable end, while the north side features flint rubble with red brick dressings. The roadside gable end is covered in weatherboarding. The roof is primarily clad in corrugated iron, except for part of the north slope, which is covered with pantiles. The barn consists of four bays, with the aisle situated on the north side, where there is also a later lean-to porch. The arched bracing to the arcade posts remains intact, and there is evidence of lap joints between the aisle posts and the ties to the outer wall. The roof structure includes two rows of butt purlins. This barn is a comparatively rare example of a single-aisled design.
