Description
This is a 16th-century barn located 50 meters southeast of Kelsale Lodge. It is constructed of red brick with some decorative diaper work using dark headers and has a pantile roof. The barn features ten bays, with cart entrances on the south side located in the third bay from each end. There are buttresses at the corners and sides, narrow slit ventilation openings, corbelled eaves, and parapet gables. Above each buttress, there is a small terracotta tile set diagonally, depicting a rampart lion, along with three additional tiles on the east gable. The roof is supported by a lower row of butt purlins and an upper row of clasped purlins, with arched wind bracing in between. There have been various later additions, including a large building from the mid-20th century on the south side.
