Description

Redhouse Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house, with 18th-century additions. It features a timber frame with colour washed render and a pantile roof. The building has a three-cell, baffle-entry plan, to which a fourth cell has been added. It stands two storeys high with an attic.

The entrance front, which may have originally been the rear, has a projecting 20th-century gabled porch located to the left of centre. This porch contains a central door with six panels, topped with shaped bargeboards and a mace finial. To the left of the porch is a three-light ground floor casement window, which, along with all the other windows on this front, dates from the 20th century. To the right of the porch, there are three two-light ground floor windows, and on the first floor, there are four two-light casements. A cross-axial stack is positioned to the left of centre above the porch.

The left gable end features two two-light ground floor windows, two two-light first floor windows, and a single attic casement window. Adjacent to this is a 20th-century addition that includes French windows on the right and a three-light ground floor window on the left. To the left of this addition, there is a two-light window on the right and a three-light casement window on the left. The left gable end also has an outshut with a catslide roof on the right, which includes a two-light ground floor casement window. The left side of this gable end has two two-light ground floor casement windows and one two-light window on the first floor. The rear of the building has a projecting wing on the right and an outshut on the left, both featuring 20th-century windows.

Inside, the farmhouse displays close-studding on the rear wall, chamfered ceiling beams with rafters on both floors, and wall posts. The roof has staggered purlins, and there is a winder staircase located between the first and attic floors.
