Description
Swiss Cottage is a house built around 1850, constructed from colourwashed brick with a machine-tile roof. The building has two storeys and features three bays. To the left of the centre is a half-glazed door, flanked by late 19th-century canted bay windows that have horned sashes arranged in 1/1, 2/2, and 1/1 configurations. A full-width timber balcony on the first floor is supported by four cast-iron posts. Three French windows open onto the balcony, which includes glazing bars and louvred shutters. The eaves cornice is saw-toothed, and above each French window is a gable with pierced scalloped bargeboards. There is a partly external stack on the south side and a ridge stack to the right of centre, both featuring twin polygonal flues. The house also has a two-storey rear wing. The interior has not been inspected.
