Description

Preston Hall is a large timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th to 17th century. It features cross wings that project to the south-west at both the north-west and south-east ends, with most of the timber-framing exposed. The roof is tiled and hipped over the cross wings. There are two impressive original stacks, one with six octagonal shafts and the other with four, both featuring spur caps and moulded bases, which rest on bases adorned with moulded terra cotta ornamental panels on the front. The building has two storeys and a three-window range on the front, consisting of 3-light bar and transom casements with leaded lights. Preston Hall is situated on the site of an earlier hall.
