Description

Ballingdon Hall was built circa 1593 by Sir Thomas Eden. It is a fine, tall, two-storey building with attics and cellars, originally timber framed and plastered with tiled roofs. The front elevation features projecting gables supported by brackets and has four two-storey bay windows with mullion and transom windows. Exposed studs are visible beneath the upper bays, while the lower bays have brick under-building. The windows within the bays vary in design, some containing six or seven lights, others blocked or with leaded panes. The interior retains original features and panelling.
