Description

Watkinsons is a 15th-century timber-framed and plastered two-bay hall house located on Rectory Lane in Newton. It features two storeys and has had a floor and fireplace added in the 16th or 17th century. The building has small casement windows, some of which retain original features like restored diamond mullions and shutter grooves. The roof is thatched and hipped at both the north and south ends. Inside, there are exposed tie beams and timber-framing. The property underwent renovation and restoration in the 20th century.
