Description

Highfield Mill, located on Melford Road, is a former windmill that was converted into a dwelling in 1692 by architect Basil Oliver. The building has three storeys and an octagonal shape, constructed from 19th century Suffolk brick. It features segmental headed recessed windows with glazing bars. The associated millhouse, also dating from the same period, is two storeys tall and has similar windows and construction. Both buildings have slate roofs, and the millhouse includes a one-window wing on the east side.
