Description

Thorpe Hall is a 16th century timber-framed and plastered building, which has undergone considerable restoration and modernisation, although original features remain. The south-east front features a fine two-storied brick porch with an arched gable and stone-framed windows; the first-storey window has a mullion and transom. The building is two stories high, with attics. The upper storey juts out on either side of the brick porch, supported by exposed joists and a castellated bressumer. A large gable projects to the north-east of the porch. Bar and transom casement windows are fitted with leaded lights. At the rear, gabled wings extend from the main structure. The roofs are tiled and include old external chimney stacks, one of which has three octagonal shafts, along with an old ridge chimney stack.
