Description

Corder’s House is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, located in Polstead. It features a cross wing at the south end and a gabled wing on the west front. The roof is tiled. The building has been restored and renovated, with much of the timber framing exposed. The west front has two storeys and attics, with a four-window range of 18th-century leaded casement windows. A door with an 8-panel design is framed by a moulded architrave and cornice. A modern lean-to addition is present on the east side, and a large internal chimney stack with attached shafts rises on the same side.
