Description

Spinners Cottage and Weavers Cottage is a 15th to 16th century timber-framed building located on the south side of Chapel Street in Bildeston. Originally, it incorporated No 39, which has since been re-faced. The timber framing is fully exposed with plaster infill. The building has been restored and renovated and consists of two storeys. The upper storey juts out over the front, supported by exposed joists, a weathered embattled bressumer, and curved brackets with shafts that have moulded capitals. There is a range of four casement windows, most of which feature glazing bars. No 35 has a four-centred arched doorway. The roofs are tiled. The building is listed for its significant group value.
