Description

The following item shall be inserted TENDERING HALL PARK 1. 5377 Stoke-by-Nayland TL 93 NE 12/934 Portico to former Tendering Hall II

  1. Tendering Hall, designed by Sir John Soane, 1784, is now demolished apart from the main portico which stands in isolation as a park feature. A red brick structure with stone plinth impost band, frieze and cornice. The front has paired plain Ionic columns and a 6-panel double door with a semi-circular stone arched opening above, with keystone. the sides have semi-circular stone arched window openings with keystones. The rear of the portico is left as it was when the main building was demolished.
