Description
The White Horse Inn is a timber-framed building that has been refronted in red brick, reflecting an 18th-century style. It likely has medieval origins and features a cross wing at the west end that is now integrated with the main block. The roof is tiled and includes a ridge chimney stack. The main block has two storeys, while there are one-storey additions on both the east and west ends.
The façade has three windows that are double-hung sashes with glazing bars and shaped brick aprons. The upper storey windows are adorned with wood cornices, while the ground storey windows feature moulded brick cornices. There are two doorways, each topped with pedimented hoods supported by double-scroll brackets, leading to five-panel doors.
Inside, the building showcases exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams, and joists. Notably, there is a well-crafted moulded beam on the ground storey and 17th-century panelling on the upper storey.
