Description

Old House is a 16th and 17th century timber-framed and plastered building, believed to have been the former Guildhall. It is designed on an L-shaped plan, with wings extending to the south-east and south-west. The roof of the south-west wing is tiled, while the south-east wing is thatched. The building has two storeys, and the older wing to the south-east features a jettied upper storey supported by exposed joists on the south-west side, along with visible timber-framing. The windows are primarily leaded casements. The north-west front has a range of four windows and includes a six-panel door topped with a flat cornice hood supported by brackets. The roof is crowned by a large square chimney stack, with an additional external stack located at the south-east end.
