Description

Ailsa Cottage in Greenan is a 15th to 16th century timber-framed and plastered building featuring a thatched roof and a cross wing at the south end. There is an additional wing extending to the west from the main block. The cottage has two storeys, with the upper storey of the main block jettied on exposed joists. The upper storey of the cross wing was originally jettied but has since been underbuilt in painted brick. The timber-framing is visible on the upper storey of the main block and across the entire north front. The windows are casement style.
