Description
Tudor House is a house dating from the 16th century that has been extensively restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with red brick nogging in the hall and on the ground floor of the wings, topped with a plain tile roof and rebuilt red brick stacks. The house likely originally had an open hall with a pair of cross wings. It is two storeys tall and probably has a two-bay hall. The entrance is located to the left of the hall range and is accessed through a 20th-century gabled timber porch. The building displays close studding and diagonal brick nogging, with restored mullion windows throughout, including a full-height window to the right of the porch. The left cross wing has a bay with arch lights leading to a mullion and transom window. The first floor is jettied with a moulded bressummer and down braces above. The roof is steeply pitched with bargeboards at the gable. There is an external stepped stack to the left, with its upper part rebuilt, and similar detailing is found on the right wing. The hall also has a steeply-pitched roof. The interior has not been inspected.
