Description

The Gables is a 17th-century house with a plastered timber frame. It features a very steep gable-ended roof covered with tiles and stands two storeys high. The central part of the house includes a two-storey plus attic gabled porch, with a lower gabled wing on the side. There is an off-centre forge brick chimney stack and a gabled cross wing at the east end (left), which has an old door with fillet moulds. The house mainly has three-light casement windows, some of which are from the 17th century and have leaded panes. To the west of the house, there are remains of a moat.
