Description
Tharston Hall is a late 16th-century house constructed of red brick featuring blue brick diapering. It has a steep pantile roof with a stepped gable end and consists of two storeys plus an attic, arranged in six bays. Off to the right, there is a two-storey plus attic porch with a shaped gable and a moulded four-centred arch doorway supported by shafts. The windows are mullion transom casements, although some have been replaced. The building also includes two modern gabled dormers and a lean-to on the west end. Brick chimney stacks are present, topped with moulded octagonal flues. Inside, the central hall features a roll moulded ceiling beam and four-centred arch doorways with chamfered jambs. There are two 18th-century chimney pieces and a ground floor room adorned with 18th-century panelling and cornice.
