Description
Hill Farmhouse is a building that likely dates from the 17th or 18th century but was rebuilt in the early 19th century using painted brick. It features a black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends and has a central brick chimney stack. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with an attic, which includes windows in the gable ends. There are two sash windows with glazing bars on the front, and a central doorcase that has reeded pilasters and an entablature with triglyphs in the frieze, leading to a panelled door. The brick chimney stack is positioned off centre. To the left, there is a projecting wing that forms an L-shaped plan; this wing is mostly brick faced but has a plastered timber-frame and also features a pantile roof with gabled ends. An external chimney stack is located on the east side of this wing.
