Description

Nos 52, 53, and 54 on Lower Street are probably early 18th century timber-frame houses that have been divided into three separate units. The exterior is rendered, and the building features a steeply pitched slate roof, with one end gabled and the other hipped. There are brick chimney stacks at each end and one off-center. The houses are two storeys tall with an attic, which includes three small gabled dormers. The front has five windows, consisting of two and four-light 18th and 19th century mullion and transom casements. There are three doorways: Nos 52 and 54 have plank doors, while No 53, located at the center, has a fielded-panel door. A lean-to structure is present at the rear.
