Description

Highfield is an early to mid-19th century house located on Carleton Rode Mill Road. It is constructed of buff brick and features a slate hipped roof with wide eaves. The building stands two storeys high and has three bays, with the left and right bays set slightly back. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and they are topped with stone lintels and cills. The central doorway is adorned with Tuscan columns and an entablature, and it has panelled reveals along with a panelled door that includes a rectangular fanlight above. Additionally, there are two large brick chimney stacks that have panelled sides and brick dentils.
