2. Japonica and Rose Cottages and the east part of Goodwin House is a C17 timber-frame range, roughcast with steeply pitched gable-ended roof of black glazed pantiles. Two storeys and attic. Four widely spaced windows, three and four-light wood mullion windows, the ground floor with transoms. Three old pedimented dormers with casements. Rose and Japonica Cottages have panelled doors, the top panels glazed. Rose Cottage has brick stack with diagonally set flues. Goodwin House at west end has a good C18 addition at right angles facing west, roughcast, steep hipped pantile roof with modillion cornice, two storeys, three windows, sashes with glazing bars, central first floor large round-headed sash with thick glazing bars in Gibbs rusticated architrave, central doorway with rusticated pilasters and entablature with hood and keyblock, and fielded panel door. Right hand return facing road, two windows, sashes with glazing bars. At rear (north) an C18 roughcast wing, two storeys, two windows, sashes with glazing bars, pantile hipped roof.
