Description

Mary’s Farmhouse is a timber-frame house dating to 1628, as indicated by the date on the chimney stack. The exterior is roughcast. It has gable-ended roofs, with sections tiled and other sections thatched. A gabled cross wing extends from the east end and features shaped bargeboards. The main block of the house is one storey with attics, while the cross wing is two storeys and has an attic. The windows are predominantly 19th-century and modern casements. Two 19th-century gabled dormers are present, also with shaped bargeboards. A porch is situated in the angle in front of a brick chimney stack, which is dated 1625 and has lozenge-section flues. A further brick chimney stack is located at the west end of the house.
