Description
The Round House is a cottage built around 1805 for the estate of Sir Roger Kerrison. It is constructed of red brick and features a brick dentil cornice and black glazed pantiles. The building is octagonal in shape, with the front and rear faces being wider than the sides. It stands two storeys tall, topped with an octagonal roof and a central octagonal chimney stack. The windows have pointed openings with Y tracery; some are fixed while others are casements with pintle hinges. The first-floor openings are shorter and lack jambs.
On the south facade facing the road, there are two openings on both the ground and first floors, although the first-floor openings are blank. The left and right facades each have one opening on both floors. The east and west facades feature a pointed doorway with a pointed boarded door and a blank opening above. The rear facade to the north mirrors the south, with the left and right sides having ground floor openings that are partially blocked by inserted windows.
