Description
Hardwick Hall is a large 17th century timber-frame house that has been plastered. It features a long range with a steeply pitched pantile roof and gabled ends. The north end of the building is covered with black glazed pantiles, and there is an off-centre brick chimney stack. The house has two storeys and an attic, with attic windows located in the gable ends. There is a five-window range, with 19th century casements that include gothic lights. A 19th century gabled porch is situated in front of the off-centre chimney stack. Additionally, there is a central late 19th century gabled wing that has a lower pitched roof. The house is located on a moated site that was once the Old Hall, which is situated to the southeast of the building.
