Description
This is a former outbuilding dating back to the 16th and 18th centuries, originally part of Bawburgh Hall, which has since been demolished. It was converted into a dwelling around 1980. The building is constructed of brick and ashlar, with a flint plinth and a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high and has scattered 20th-century windows. A gable-end wall from the 16th century is made of re-used ashlar, featuring four rectangular hood moulds above blocked openings. The parapetted gable has moulded coping and incorporates two reused 14th-century gargoyles in the form of grotesque heads. Tie-ends are moulded to form the initials L.S. The interior includes 16th-century roll-moulded beams. The main side walls are brick, with segmental arched openings on the ground floor; the upper floor is an 18th-century addition.
