Description
The Old Blacksmith's Arms and "The Cottage" is a former public house dating from the 18th century, now with a side extension that serves as a separate dwelling. The building features a rendered timber-frame structure topped with a thatched roof, while the extension is made of roughcast clay-lump with a pantiled roof. It is a single-storey building with an attic and a two-storey extension. There are two 20th-century windows alongside a 19th-century planked front door. A single three-light casement dormer is present, and the extension includes 18th-century mullioned and transomed casements with leaded lights. A protruding stack likely belonged to an earlier building on the same site, and there are later side extensions at both ends.
