Description
The mock bridge at Eaton Park, including the attached steps, walls, and piers, was built between 1924 and 1928 by A Sandys Winsch. It features painted concrete and rubblestone retaining walls. The design includes a balustraded raised driveway that resembles a bridge, situated between the Yachting Pond and the Lily Pond. At both ends and on either side of the bridge are ramps and steps that end in low square piers. Low retaining walls extend from the northern side piers, surrounding the Lily Pond and connecting to a central flight of steps that leads up to the Bandstand and Quadrant Pavilions. This structure is part of a significant group of features within Eaton Park, which is listed in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade II*.
