Description

This is a late 17th-century barn located approximately 20 metres east of Grove Farmhouse. The barn is constructed of coursed flint and brick, with brick dressings, and has a thatched roof. It is rectangular in plan. The barn has slit ventilation holes, some with brick dressings, and a large, off-centre door. The right-hand gable wall features two slits and an owl hole above a brick gable. A platband runs along the wall. The left-hand gable wall has a brick repair to the corner, two brick-dressed ventilation holes, and two slits above in a brick gable. A small central door is located at the rear. Internally, the barn has four bays with brick splayed ventilation slits. It features tie beams, collar beams, two rows of butt purlins (one row with straight wind braces), and a ridge piece.
