Description

Nos 18 and 20 on Church Street are early 19th-century buildings featuring roughcast exteriors with imitation timber framing. They have a low-pitched pantile roof with coped gable ends and rise to three storeys. The left-hand side has two sash windows, which retain their glazing bars. On the ground floor, the right side showcases a projecting mid-19th-century shop front with curved corners, an entablature, and a cornice. The left side features another mid-19th-century shop front, this one with pilasters and an entablature. The north-east gable is cobbled, combining both coarsed and random cobbles, and is accented with brick quoins. These buildings are included for their group value, as they form a cohesive architectural group with Nos 22, 26, and 28 Church Street, Cromer Baptist Church, and Nos 1 to 7 (consecutive) The Gateway, including No 1 Surrey Street.
