No 1 Market Place is a late 19th-century building constructed of painted brick, located on a corner site. It stands three stories tall with a shaped gable facing the Market Place. The Market Place elevation features one window, while the ground floor has an altered projecting Victorian shop front. The first floor has a splayed bay adorned with pilasters and a cornice that includes dentils and brackets, topped with iron cresting. The second floor has a sash window with a stone head that features a keyblock and a carved head. The roof is covered with new interlocking tiles. On the Norwich Street elevation, there are three sash windows with margin panes and vermiculated keyblocks.
