Description
The north part of the premises of Murdock Norton, located at No. 12 on the west side of High Street, is a mid-19th century building constructed of red brick. The left side is stuccoed and splayed back, and it features a black-glazed pantile roof with one hipped end. The building stands three storeys tall and has four asymmetrical windows. The sashes on the windows do not have glazing bars, except for the second-floor window on the left, which does. The first floor includes an off-centre bay window with sashes without glazing bars and a cornice above it. The ground floor is entirely a recessed modern shop, which retains the cornice of the original 19th-century shop above. This building is part of a group of listed buildings that includes all listed buildings in Jetty Street, Jetty Cliff, and West Cliff.
