Description

The buildings at 69A and 71 High Street are likely from the early 18th century, although they have a mid-19th century red brick facade. They feature a steep roof of black-glazed pantiles, with gabled ends and overhanging eaves supported by paired shaped brackets. The buildings are two storeys high and have four windows, one on the first floor which has been blocked. The windows have triangular lintels and sash glazing bars. Number 69A includes a small mid-19th century shop with pilasters and an entablature. Number 71 has a pilastered doorcase with a rectangular fanlight above a glazed door. A rear wing attached to number 69A is rendered and has a steep pantile roof with a gable end, and a very large first-floor casement window that was likely originally a loft door.
