Description

East Raynham House is a house dating to the 17th century, with details added in the 19th century. The front is rendered with squared stucco, while the rear is brick. The roof is covered with black smut pantiles. The house is originally a two-storey, single-pile structure, now with a two-storey, brick wing added at the rear in the 19th century. It has three ground-floor windows, each a three-light arched wooden casement. Above these are three three-light and one two-light straight-headed casement windows. A late 18th-century four-panel door is set within a pedimented doorcase, positioned slightly off-centre. The roof is steeply pitched, with 19th-century bargeboard gables and three diamond-section brick stacks. A gable at the southwest end, constructed of flint and brick, suggests an earlier core to the house, predating 1700. A brick lean-to is attached to the southwest.
