Description
No. 11 and No. 12 on Fakenham Road are lodges to Raynham Hall, built in 1825. They are designed in a Neo-classical style and constructed from pebble flint with gault brick dressings and slated roofs. The two detached lodges feature two-storey returns and gables facing the road, each with a single arched sash window that has glazing bars, set within a gault brick arch framed by rusticated quoins and keystones.
The outer walls have rusticated brick pilasters that support a brick cornice, which is topped with an attic and a pediment, along with stone console brackets. The returns consist of two bays, with one ground floor arched window and two first floor hinged casement windows, all featuring glazing bars. Each lodge has a six-panel door, first floor plat-bands, and rusticated brick quoins.
The entrance is marked by four detached rusticated brick piers that have pebble flint panels and stone copings, along with cast iron pedestrian and double carriage gates. The central piers are equipped with cast iron lamp brackets. Beyond the lodges, there are three bay curved screen walls with rusticated piers, flint panels, and stone copings.
