Description
Church House is an 18th-century house built of red brick with a smut pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and was originally designed in a T shape, though it has since been extended. The south front features a central gable on the east side, with a ground floor that includes one sash window with glazing bars and a four-panelled door set in reveals, framed by a fluted door-case. Above, there is a plat-band and two sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, along with a moulded brick cornice. The gable is blank and has a plat-band, kneelers, and tumbling, with a blank bay to the east that features a dentil cornice. The returns of the gable to the east have two sash windows with glazing bars on both the ground and first floors, while the west side has a door and two sash windows with glazing bars on each floor. There are two end stacks, with a 20th-century stack on the gable. Additionally, there is a one-bay, two-storey L-shaped extension from the 20th century to the east. The building is included for its group value.
