Description
Walnut Farm House is a house from the late 18th century that has been significantly altered and is dated 1864. It is constructed from flint pebble with brick dressings and features a black glazed pantile roof. The building has three bays and two storeys, with sash windows that have glazing bars and exposed sash boxes. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a rectangular light above it, framed by a classical doorcase with fluted heads and square pilasters. The right-hand gable displays an uncoursed flint and brick mosaic with slanting brick headers, and there is a stone plaque inscribed with "W H 1864." A glazed door leads to a late 20th-century conservatory, and the right-hand gable has a lean-to addition, dated 1978, made of pebble brick under pantiles. Inside, there is an open string staircase in the central bay with a wreathed oak handrail supported by square wooden balusters, and one bar stopped chamfered beam can be found at the rear.
