Description

Brook House is a late 18th-century brick house located on the east side of Thornage, Norfolk. It is a three-bay, two-storey building with a black glazed pantile roof. The house has a dentil cornice made of upright bricks, a platband, and a gable parapet. There are gable end stacks with shafts topped with a dog tooth cornice. The windows are sash windows with moulded exposed boxes, set within finely jointed skew back arches that have rendered keystones. The doorcase features square pilasters and a narrow canopy supported by reeded brackets, sheltering a four-panelled door. The left-hand gable is constructed of flint with brick dressings set on a flint plinth, while the right-hand gable is rendered. A single-storey extension is attached to the right side, and a continuous rear outshut runs along the back of the house.
