Description
The barn at White Lodge Farm, dated 1694, is constructed of flint with brick dressings and brick. It features an asbestos roof and consists of five bays. The south side has large doors located in the second and third bays, and there is one slit opening in each bay with brick reveals and brick splay on the interior. The west gable wall is made of coursed flints and has a large opening with brick reveals that are tumbling in. The north wall includes a door to the centre bay, while the south wall was rebuilt in the 20th century.
Inside, the roof has tie beams, most of which have arched braces for wall support, with visible mortice joints. There are carpenter's numbers at the joints, and one tie beam is marked with "1694 RHA." The roof structure includes two rows of collar beams and three rows of butt purlins, with straight wind braces supporting all the middle row of purlins.
