Description

School. Built in 1840, as evidenced by the datestone reading "National School erected to the glory of God and the Welfare of man 1840." The building is constructed of flint with red brick dressings. It has a red pantiled roof and is designed in a Tudor-Gothic style. It originally had a five-bay facade. The outer bays feature windows with two mullions and a transom within chamfered brick surrounds, topped with stucco drip-moulds. A central porch is present with buttresses and a coped gable incorporating the datestone. Other features include a brick plinth, end buttresses with conical caps, crow-stepped gables, and end stacks. A south-facing lean-to addition provides access via a door with a gothic-style head.
