Description
This is an architectural fragment located approximately 9 metres south-west of the nave of Mannington Church. It was assembled in the late 19th century by the 4th Earl of Orford, who died in 1894. The structure features a 15th-century gateway arch with hinges set into an ashlar-faced wall. It has a continuous double hollow chamfered moulding, which is now situated under a pediment topped with a ball finial. There are also two diagonal stepped buttresses with double coped plinths. This arch is included for its group value.
