Description
Nos 1, 1B, and 1C on Church Street are early 19th-century buildings. They are two stories tall and constructed of red brick, featuring sash windows with glazing bars and gauged flat arches at the first floor. The buildings have a hipped pantile roof, and there is a display window on the corner next to the splay. No 1C, which houses a hairdressers, is likely from the 18th century and has been altered; it has an entrance on the return in Vicarage Street and one sash window with glazing bars, along with a three-story section that includes one sash window and a blank panel at the first and second floors. This section is finished in pebbledash and also has a pantile roof. The early 19th-century wood shop front features pilasters and a central entrance with a fanlight. Nos 1, 1B, and 1C are part of a group with No 38 Vicarage Street.
