Description
Kettlestone House is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of gault brick and features a black glazed pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with a three-bay garden front. It has two ground-floor and three first-floor tripartite plate-glass casements, along with a central first-floor plate-glass sash window. The entrance features a central six-panel raised and fielded door with panelled reveals and leaded glazing bars in the fan-light. This is flanked by Ionic fluted half-columns, topped with an entablature and a baseless open pediment. The house has wooden eaves, a hipped roof, and off-ridge stacks. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing made of flint with brick dressings, and the north gable displays the initials WJ and the date 1857, which refers to William Jones of Cranmer Hall in Sculthorpe.
