Description
No. 5 Littleport Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has been whitewashed on the front. The building features a slate roof and stands two storeys tall with a dormer attic, arranged in seven bays, with the central three bays projecting forward. The design is symmetrical, with a half-glazed central door set in a stuccoed surround. The windows are late 19th-century plate-glass sashes that do not have glazing bars. The eaves are adorned with a timber modillion cornice. The gabled roof includes three flat-topped dormers fitted with 20th-century windows. There is a partly external gable-end stack on the east side and a wholly internal stack on the west. At the rear, there is a two-storey cross wing. The east side features two-storey canted bay windows, and the top courses of the brickwork have been rebuilt in the 20th century. The gabled roof has two stacks on the north gable, located on the roof slopes.
