Description

Two houses, built in the early 17th century and altered in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The houses are constructed of buff brick with a slate roof. They are two storeys high. The central area features a 20th-century open pedimented hood over a pair of 20th-century doors. Number 49 has one sash window with glazing bars to the right and another above it, the lower window with a segmental arch. Number 47 has a 20th-century sash window to the left of the door and two similar first-floor windows. There are various blocked window openings. The roof is gabled. A 17th-century internal gable-end stack, shared with number 51, is present on the south side; it has a square plinth and five diamond-section flues. The rear of the building has concrete tiles. Inside, both houses have a bridging beam running east-west across the ground floor west rooms. Number 49 includes large-framed 18th-century panelling in the entrance passage. All other interior details date to the 20th century.
