Description
Nos. 24 and 26 King Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick and features slate roofs. The building has three storeys and is arranged in four bays. A segmental arch, located left of centre, indicates a passageway to the rear and provides entrances to each block within it, complemented by iron gates. This particular bay is slightly set forward. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, topped with gauged skewback arches. A parapet conceals three hipped roofs that run east-west, with internal end stacks positioned at the parapets over the returns.
Inside, there is an early 19th-century elliptical brick cellar beneath No. 24. The interior also includes two staircases featuring round balusters of the stick variety and handrails that are ramped and wreathed.
